Wang Zimin’s experience in treating chronic renal failure based on“deficiency,turbidity,blood stasis and toxin”

王自敏教授专注肾病临床研究60余年,针对慢性肾衰竭的防治,有自己独到的见解,认为慢性肾衰竭是虚实错杂、本虚标实之病。病位以肾为中心,后涉及肝、脾、肺三脏,并提出“虚、浊、瘀、毒”四大病机,“虚”为发病基础,“浊、瘀、毒”为重要进展因素,治疗上强调治病求本,扶正补虚;清热化湿,和胃降浊;活血化瘀,通脉解凝;内外结合,通腑排毒,临证时注意标本兼顾、辨证论治,结合经验对药进行组方加减,为慢性肾衰竭的中医诊疗提供新的方法及思路。

Professor Wang Zimin has been engaged in the clinical research on kidney diseases for more than 60 years,having her own unique insights into the prevention and treatment of chronic renal failure.She argues that the disease is due to the combination of both deficiency and excess,characterized by the deficiency of the body and the excess of manifestations.The disease is located first at the kidney,and later involves the liver,spleen,and lung.She proposes the four major pathogeneses of“deficiency,turbidity,blood stasis,and toxin”,with“deficiency”as the basis of the disease,and“turbidity,blood stasis,and toxin”as the important factors for its transmission.In terms of its treatment,she emphasizes dealing with its root cause,strengthening the body and tonifying the deficiency,clearing heat and resolving dampness,harmonizing the stomach and reducing turbidity,activating the blood circulation and removing blood stasis,unblocking collaterals and removing coagulations,combining the internal and external,dredging the viscera and expelling toxins.In clinical practice,she treats both the manifestations and root cause of the disease,administering treatments based on syndrome differentiations,formulating and modifying prescriptions on the basis of her experience.Professor Wang Zimin’s clinical practice is believed to be able to provide new methods and ideas for the TCM diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney failure.
