新疆条鳅属(Nemachilus)鱼类一新种

A NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS NEMACHILUS(COBITIDAE)FROM XINJIANG,CHINA

中国科学院动物研究所鱼类标本室收藏的鳅科鱼类标本中,在中亚条鳅(Nemac-hilus stoliczkae Steindachner)名下,有14尾新疆塔里木盆地的标本,形态特殊,并非该种。经研究,确认它们是条鳅属(Nemachilus)一新种,命名为巨头条鳅Nemachilus zamegacephalus,新种,(图1,2)

Examining the loach specimens depositep in Institute of Zo.olpgy,Academia Sinica the author came across a group of specimens labelled as Nemachilus stoliczkae(Steindachner)from Xinjiang.Their characters are so different from those of N.stoliczkae and all other congeners that they must be considered as representatives of an unknown species of the genus.According to one of the most prominent features,extraordinarily large head,the new taxon is denominated.Nemachilus zamegacephalus Zhao,sp.nov.(Figs.1 and 2)Diagnosis.Somewhat similar to N.dorsalis(Kessler),the new species may be easily distinguished from it as well as N,stoliczkae by 1)a large head 3.4(3.1-3.5)in body length with a depth larger than width or even as deep as body depth;2)no pappila on lips;3)very big eyes remarkably supralateral to the head;4)large spherical swimm-bladder in abdominal cavity;5)intestine convoluted more simply and 6)no dimorphism.Syntypes:14,total length 22.9-72.7mm,body length 18.6-59.6mm,Nos.54884-885,60189-200,collected by Yue Zhuohe from Xiaohaizi,a small lake at Zubashi about 39℃30’N and 78℃40’E,Bachu,South of Xinjiang,China,in 1963 and deposited in Institute of Zoology,Academia Sinica,Beijing.
