陕西白蜡虫(Ericerus pela Chavannes)泌蜡量的研究

STUDIES ON WAX-SECRETING CAPACITY OF WHITE WAX INSECT(ERICERUS PELA CHAVANNES)FROM SHANXI PROVINCE

陕西省南部是我国白蜡虫老产区之一,其产量仅次于云南、贵州、四川三省,但是陕西产的白蜡虫质量较差,产蜡量低。作者于1974年开始对陕西白蜡虫泌蜡量进行系统的实验观察,到1980年基本上研究清楚了影响陕西白蜡虫泌蜡量少的原因。现将实验结果整理成文,供有关方面参考。

Shanxi Province has long been one of the native towns of white wax insect in China,but the wax secretion of the insect is not rich.By experiments and observations in 1974-1980,we discovered that the low output of wax secretion was due to following factors.1.The white wax insect laid fewer eggs;2.Male insects were fewer in number;and 3.The wax secreting period was short.These factors beared close relationship with the local conditions.Through one experiments of fostering white wax insects on single factor Ligustrum luci-dum Ait we have discovered that the output of wax secretion can be raised by using the Ligustrum lucidum Ait as the host.Therefore,we suggest that the Ligustrum lucidum Ait be planted to replace Fraxinus chinensis Roxb gradually so as to build this area into a new one.
