摘要
本研究关注中国高校非英语外语教师在“一带一路”建设背景下的能动性表现及其影响因素。研究基于生态视角,对15位非英语外语教师进行半结构式访谈。研究发现,非英语外语教师具有四种能动性:“高度认可,稳步发展”“积极调适,力不从心”“内心抗拒,消极应付”“不思求变,随波逐流”,且受到个人经历、当前工作环境和发展目标的共同影响。研究揭示了社会变革下非英语外语教师能动性的复杂性和多样性,呼吁高校关注其发展问题,保障其参与事关自身发展政策决定的权利,为其提供有效资源支持,提高教师能动性。
This paper explores the manifestations of and factors influencing the agency of LOTE(Languages Other than English) teachers in a Chinese university under The Belt and Road Initiative. Based on the ecological perspective and semi-structured interviews with 15 LOTE teachers, the findings show that LOTE teachers’ agency is enacted through high approval and steady development, or active adjustment and unsatisfactory capabilities, or inner resistance and passive responses, or conservative minds and aimless drift;their agency is mediated by personal experiences, current working environment and development goals. The findings reveal the complexity and diversity of LOTE teachers’ agency amidst social change. It is suggested that the universities pay attention to LOTE teachers’ development, ensure their right to participate in relevant policy making, provide them with effective resource support, and enhance their agency.
