杰恩•柯尔特兹是美国黑人艺术运动时期以及当代重要的非裔女性诗人、口头艺术表演家和社会活动家。她的诗歌作品具有明显的黑人音乐和超现实主义特征。基于黑人布鲁斯和爵士音乐元素和表意策略的声音诗学凸显了诗歌声音文本的表现力。以现实与梦境的串联和身体器官的使用为特征的超现实主义的诗歌创作是诗人揭露现实问题、反抗社会不公的手段。作为一位先锋艺术家,柯尔特兹的诗歌实验以声音诗学挑战了白人诗歌传统中文字文本的主导地位,构成了对欧洲中心主义文化传统的反叛;以超现实主义创作手法揭露现实,为被压迫群体发声;以包容的文化态度与世界非裔流散群体和其他民族对话。柯尔特兹的诗歌艺术是其政治立场的证明和进行政治反叛的途径,而她的社会民主思想也在诗歌创作和社会实践中得到升华和践行。
Jayne Cortez is an important female African American poet,oral artist and activist during the age of Black Arts Movement and in contemporary time.Her poetry is characterized with features of black music and Surrealism.Her sound poetics rooted in musical elements and signifying strategies of blues and jazz makes prominent the power of sound texts.Specializing in connecting the real and unreal,and the exploitation of physical organ images,her surrealistic poetry serves as a means to unveil social realities and exert social revolutions.As an avant-garde artist,Cortez with her sound poetics,challenges the word text centered poetics of the White European literary tradition,in a further way,its cultural dominance.She articulates for the oppressed groups with her surrealistic approach and her opening cultural attitudes facilitates a dialogue between African American nation and the black diaspora,as well as other nationalities.Cortez’s craftsmanship proves her political attitude and embodies social rebellion.At meantime,her democratic ideal gets refined and realized in such poetic creation and social involvement.
