多模态视阈下《喜福会》隐喻的符际翻译研究

A Study of the Intersemiotic Translation of the Metaphors in The Joy Luck Club from a Multimodal Perspective

《喜福会》是华裔美国作家谭恩美的处女作,也是其成名作。由该小说改编的同名电影《喜福会》也受到观众的一致好评。因而,从文学作品进行电影改编的角度看,该小说的改编颇为成功。本研究借鉴符际翻译和多模态隐喻的相关理论,将小说《喜福会》及电影中异质的隐喻进行对比研究,探讨小说《喜福会》的隐喻在电影改编过程中的传译方法,进而深入挖掘该符际翻译成功的原因,为文学作品的电影改编提供可供参考的借鉴。

The Joy Luck Club is the first and most famous novel by Amy Tan,a Chinese-American writer.The movie The Joy Luck Club,which was adapted from the novel,was also well received.Therefore,from the perspective of literary works to film,the adaptation is quite successful.In order to provide references for the film adaptation of literary works,by comparing the metaphors in the novel with those in the movie,this paper discusses the translation strategies of the metaphorical scenes in film adaptation,and further explores the reasons behind this under the guidance of the theories about intersemiotic translation and multimodal metaphor translation.
