Dear editor,Ectopic pregnancy is a medico-surgical emergency requiring prompt diagnostic and therapeutic measures.It is defined as the implantation of the embryo outside its normal site within the endometrial cavity.1 The fallopian tube is the most common site of ectopic implantations(96%),followed by the ovary(1%),caesarean section scar(1%–3%),cervix(1%)and viscera of the abdominal cavity(1%).2 Among tubal locations,the interstitium is the least described implantation site(2.6%),whereas the ampulla,isthmus and fimbriated infundibulum have the following respective frequencies:73.3%,12.5%and 11.6%.3 Heterotopic pregnancies are extremely rare cases.
