Taking the small reservoir rain and regime forecast and dam safety monitoring project at Yongfu County as example, an introduction was made on the problems of project design in respects of construction objectives of system, layout of facilities, data acquisition and transmission, power supply system and data management platform. The author also summarized the design experience of this type of project.
