A Summary of the Academic Achievements of South China University of Tech.Team on"Trio-scape"

介绍华南理工大学团队在声景、光景和香景领域多年来的主要学术成果。其中,光景学由团队负责人吴硕贤院士首次提出,并率团队深入研究。限于篇幅,仅选取2006年至今正式发表的期刊论文和学位论文共计67篇成果,初步勾勒团队在声景、光景及香景领域的研究脉络。成果反映出团队对声景、光景和香景研究的独立思考,以及建构生态文明时代多元景观体系的探索路径,融贯了“弘扬传统文化,提升人居环境品质”核心的本土智慧与前沿探索。

In this paper,the academic achievements of the South China University of Technology on Trio-scape,ie.Soundscape,Lightscape and Smellscape is introduced.The Lightscape is proposed by the team leader Wu Shuoxian academician firstly,and advocates the"Lightscape"as a new discipline parallel with"Soundscape"and"Smellscape",facilitate the construction of a modern multi-landscape theory integrating the"Trio-scape".The key results are as follows:(1)Soundscape:Firstly,the preliminary research framework on soundscape in Chinese Classical Gardens is established.including the noise reduction,soundscape construction and the design with an artistic conception of tranquility.Its scenic planning rules,ie.Screening the ungraceful&Gathering the graceful,which integrates the noise reduction,and how to use the rockery,water,vegetation,animal and architecture rule to bring beautiful sounds into the garden is clarified,as well as the philosophical contemplation of"tranquility"of Chinese culture,the gap between soundscape construction and the quiet environment in physical acoustic view is bridged.Secondly,the process of soundscape evolution in Suzhou Classical Garden,Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain,Hangzhou West Lake is clarified,all results proved the basic knowledge for the bottleneck problem of soundscape heritage protection under the modern conditions.Third,the database of typical soundscape in traditional gardens is established,the sound signal pick-up and reproduction technology comparison is carry out in Lingnan garden based on the psychological recovery effect of sound sense,its temporal dynamic characteristics is analysised to explore the effects of different recording and replaying modes on soundscape restoration.Fourth,the cultural mechanism of soundscape is clarified through cross-cultural comparison of soundscape construction in Italian Renaissance villas gardens,English picturesque gardens in the 18th century,and Japanese tea gardens in the Edo period.The soundscape monitoring is carried out to evaluate the biodiversity in Haizhu National Wetland Park in Guangzhou.The healing value of multi-sensory environment is evidenced in the sensory garden project from One Health perspective as well.(2)Lightscape:The framework concept of lightscape is being made perfect and basic theories being improved persistently.The social and regional cultural connotations of lightscape are focused on,the interaction of the three elements of"person-light-environment"is being attempted to illustrate,the experience and perception of people in the whole site is laid emphasis on,appreciate natural and artificial lightscape in a healthy and scientific way according to local conditions is being recommended.From a perspective of multi-scientific crossfertilization,the origins of the discipline,the background cultural connotations of typical types of lightscape and their characteristics are explored and clarified;systematic field research combined with historical research,typical lightscape resources in the region are being organized and recorded,and also preserved and utilized.The way of people and social communities perceive/understand and experience lightscape is being illustrated;research methods of lightscape perception evaluation and details of experiment procedures are summarized and optimized persistently.After studies on typical cases of lightscape perception,main factors affecting lightscape perception in different spatial types are proposed,a perception evaluation model is constructed.As a pioneering approach,"lightwalk"is proposed and applied in the field research and also a design method.(3)Smellscape:Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,multidisciplinary integration,historical research combined with modern scientific testing and system research.First of all,based on the relationship between the three elements of’people-scent-environment’,this paper explores the construction thought,construction mode and aesthetic characteristics of Chinese traditional garden smellscape,and constructs the theoretical framework of Chinese traditional garden smellscape research.Secondly,the plant smellscape resource library is constructed,the application history of aromatic plants is sorted out,and the smellscape of garden heritage plants is recorded and monitored to explore the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and influencing factors of smellscape.The study breaks through the chemical characteristics of aroma,paying attention to the humanistic characteristics,regional characteristics and time characteristics of smellscape.The study of Chinese traditional garden plant smellscape is beneficial to enrich the research dimension of traditional garden theory,provide a new perspective for the protection and monitoring of garden heritage,and provide reference for the construction of high-quality living environment.The academic achievements of SCUT team on Trioscape research is outlined,reflecting the independent thinking.Along with lightscapes,it is expected to play an important role in further improving the quality of human settlements in our country and keeping homesickness,it provides local wisdom and frontier exploration for the construction of multi-landscape.
