摘要
国际舆论既能反映国际公众的心理,又能影响公众认知。在以“质量”为抓手推动中国向“贸易强国”迈进的背景下,探析涉华国际舆论对中国企业出口产品质量的影响尤为重要。文章从国际舆论褒贬度和国际舆论影响力两个角度研究国际舆论对中国企业出口产品质量的影响。研究发现,国际舆论褒贬度上升,即国际舆论越偏褒扬,对企业出口产品质量有显著的抑制作用,但国际舆论影响力上升能够显著促进企业出口产品质量提升。机制分析发现,出口年限增加弱化了国际舆论褒贬度上升对企业出口产品质量的负向影响。进一步的异质性分析表明,国际舆论褒贬度上升显著降低了外资企业、加工贸易企业、劳动密集型企业、高初始质量企业以及质量异质性程度较低的企业的出口产品质量。
International public opinion can not only reflect the psychology of international public, but also affect public perception. In the context of taking “quality” as the key point to promote China to become a “trade power”, it is particularly important to analyze the impact of international public opinion involving China on export products quality of China’s enterprises. This paper probes into the impact of international public opinion on export products quality of China’s enterprises from two perspectives of the degree of praise or criticism of international public opinion and the influence of international public opinion. The research reveals that the increasing degree of praise or criticism of international public opinion, that is, the more favorable international public opinion, has a significant inhibitory effect on export products quality of the enterprises, but the rising influence of international public opinion can significantly promote export products quality of the enterprises. The mechanism analysis indicates that the increase of export years weakens the negative impact of the increasing degree of praise or criticism of international public opinion on export products quality of the enterprises. Further heterogeneity analysis shows that the increasing degree of praise or criticism of international public opinion causes the significant decline in export products quality of foreign enterprises, processing trade enterprises, labor-intensive enterprises, high-initial-quality enterprises and the enterprises with low quality heterogeneity.
