The Influence of Innovation Input and Industrial Structure Upgrading on China’s Economic Growth——Based on Provincial Panel Data of China From 2008 to 2020

技术创新和产业结构升级都是驱动经济增长的重要因素。以2008-2020年我国省际面板数据为依据,分析了创新投入与产业结构升级对经济发展的影响,用中介效应模型检验了产业结构升级两个指标的中介作用,还对不同地区进行异质性检验。研究发现创新投入始终是主要驱动因素,高级化在产业结构升级中占据主导地位,东部和中西部地区的产业结构升级存在显著差异。基于结论,从提高创新投入水平、推进产业结构持续优化升级、制定适宜产业政策等角度提出对策建议。

Innovation and industrial structure upgrading are both important factors driving economic growth.This paper uses provincial panel data from 2008 to 2020 to analyze the impact of innovation input and industrial structure upgrading, and test the mediating effect of the two indicators of industrial structure upgrading, and carries out heterogeneity test for different regions. Innovation input has always been the main driving factor, and advanced plays a dominant role in the upgrading of industrial structure. There are significant differences between the upgrading in the eastern and western regions. Based on the conclusion, the following suggestions are put forward: improve the level of innovation input, promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, and formulate industrial policies according to local conditions.
