With the implementation of new laws and certifications of cosmetic efficacy, China has officially entered the era of cosmetic efficacy. Cosmetic whitening and freckle removal are also included in the efficacy evaluation requirements. In this paper, several methods and standards of cosmetic whitening efficacy evaluation are summarized and compared, and the applicable fields of each method and standard are discussed. It provided references for the selection of whitening efficacy evaluation methods.
