珲春位于中俄边境,近代以来中俄交涉频繁,受制于语言交流障碍,俄文书院应时而设。珲春俄文书院作为东北地区较早开展俄文教学、培养俄文翻译人才的学校,在设立之初即得到清朝吉林将军衙门的大力肯定,成立后在课程、教学、经费等方面亦有稳定的保障与支持。珲春俄文书院虽存在不可避免的历史局限,但其率先开展俄语翻译教学,带动周边地区俄语书院发展,对东北地区培养俄语人才起了促进作用。

Hunchun is located in the border between China and Russia.Since modern times,China and Russia have made frequent negotiations,so it is necessary to set up a Russian academy from time to time.As one of the earliest schools in northeast China to carry out Russian teaching and cultivate Russian translation talents,the Hunchun Russian Academy was strongly affirmed by the General Yamen of Jilin Province at the beginning of its establishment,and had stable guarantee and support in courses,teaching and funds after its establishment.Although there are inevitable historical limitations in Hunchun Russian Academy,it takes the lead in training Russian translation talents,drives the development of Russian teaching in the surrounding areas,and promotes the cultivation of Russian talents in northeast China.
