On Yongdeng’s Strategic Position from the Historical Changes of Geographical Names

永登县地处甘肃中部,兰州市西北部,北通宁夏、内蒙古自治区,南与金城隔河相连,西接青藏,东连松山古城,遥望宁夏平原。为亚欧大陆和古丝绸之路要冲,历史悠久,地理位置险要,自古为兵家必争之地,该文试从县域内具有特征性地名的历史变迁来浅要分析其战略地位。

Yongdeng Gounty is located in the middle of Gansu Province,northwest of Lanzhou,connecting Ningxia and Inner Mongolia in the north,connecting Jincheng River in the south,Qinghai Tibet in the west,Songshan ancient city in the east and Ningxia Plain in the distance.It has a long history and a dangerous geographical position.It has always been a place for strategists to contend for.This paper tries to analyze its strategic position from the historical changes of the characteristic geographical names in the county.
