The five volumes of Ethical Literary Criticism edited by Nie Zhenzhao and Su Hui are the breakthrough achievement in the field of foreign literary study.It displays the national spirit and cultural confidence of the Chinese scholars in the new era,thus causing active response both domestically and abroad.This paper focuses on its innovation in theory and its significance in practice,holding that the volume of "Theory Research" establishes the theoretical framework and discourse system,while the other four volumes are the application of the theory to literary interpretation and criticism,and at the same time the verification of the theory.The five volumes together prove the power of the theory in literary interpretation.
