知识产权保护对外贸高质量发展的影响——基于数字经济的门槛效应

The impact of intellectual property protection on the high-quality development of foreign trade——based on the threshold effect of the digital economy

知识产权保护为中国实现外贸转型升级提供了重要制度保障。利用2011—2020年中国省级面板数据对知识产权保护促进外贸高质量发展的总体作用、间接机制和异质性影响进行了实证检验。研究发现,知识产权保护显著推动了中国外贸高质量发展;知识产权保护通过提高人力资本水平、提升创新绩效促进外贸高质量发展;进一步研究发现,知识产权保护对外贸高质量发展的促进作用还受到数字经济发展的影响,表现出门槛效应:当数字经济发展水平超过一定界限后,知识产权保护对外贸高质量发展的促进作用得到增强。因此,在数字经济发展水平较高的地区,知识产权保护对外贸高质量发展的促进作用更大。为此,各地应进一步完善知识产权保护机制,优化数字经济发展环境,以充分发挥知识产权保护及数字经济对外贸转型升级的助推作用。

Intellectual property protection has provided an important institutional guarantee for China to realize the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade.This paper empirically tests the overall effect,indirect mechanism and heterogeneous impact of intellectual property protection on promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade by using provincial panel data of China from 2011 to 2020.The research found that intellectual property protection significantly promoted the high-quality development of China’s foreign trade;intellectual property protection promotes the high-quality development of foreign trade by improving the level of human capital and improving innovation performance;further research shows that the promotion of intellectual property protection on the high-quality development of foreign trade is also affected by the development of digital economy,showing a threshold effect:when the development level of digital economy exceeds a certain limit,the promotion of intellectual property protection on the high-quality development of foreign trade is enhanced.Therefore,in the areas with a high level of digital economy development,intellectual property protection has a greater role in promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade.In view of this,different regions should further improve the intellectual property protection mechanism and optimize the development environment of digital economy,so as to give full play to the role of intellectual property protection and digital economy in promoting the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade.
