翻译过程分为理解阶段和表达阶段。英汉句子结构及表达方式上的差异使得我们在英汉翻译的过程中对长句的理解不够深透,汉语表达不够准确。因此,为了更好地理解原文,可采用“断句”的策略。首先,把握好全句语义宏观结构,其次,将原来的英文句子作有序的分割,然后将其翻译成两个或多个汉语分句,再结合一些翻译技巧将这些分句重新组合起来,从而做到有效地表达。

The process of translation is divided into two stages:understanding stage and expression stage.The differences in sentence structure and expression between English and Chinese make our understanding of long sentences not deep enough and Chinese expression not accurate enough in the process of English Chinese translation.Therefore,in order to better understand the original,we can use the strategy of"sentence splitting".First of all,grasp the macro structure of the whole sentence.Second,divide the original English sentence into two or more Chinese clauses in an orderly way.Then combine these clauses with some translation skills to achieve effective expression.
