The Development Model and Mission of World-class Universities with Chinese Characteristics

世界一流大学的“西方”方法论存在重大缺陷。建设中国特色、世界一流大学,必须实现方法论的根本性转变。中国近现代大学的特殊起源、特殊使命、特殊形成方式和特殊的大学制度,决定了中国特色、世界一流大学的特殊发展模式。在中国特色社会主义新时代,中国特色、世界一流大学必须担负培养时代新人的重大使命,必须自觉履行高水平科技自立自强使命担当。

There are significant flaws in the “Western” methodology of the world’s leading universities. To build a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, we must realize a fundamental change in methodology. The special origin, special mission, special formation mode and special university system of modern and contemporary universities in China determine the special development mode of world-class universities with Chinese characteristics. In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, world-class universities with Chinese characteristics must shoulder the critical mission of cultivating new talents of the era and conscientiously fulfill the mission of becoming self-reliant in high-level science and technology.
