World's earliest encyclopedia on display

An itinerant exhibition of the Jiajing version of the Yongle Encyclopedia,the world's earliest and largest general encyclopedia,was launched on Dec.9 at the Hubei Provincial Library,showcasing three volumes of this ancient print.The Yongle Encyclopedia is|a collection of Chinese categorized books commissioned by the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644)Emperor Yongle in 1403 and completed in 1408.
