I had a Vw that my father had given me,after driving it himself for years.It was the car that took me to school when I was a child;it was an element of my daily life and my story;and at the same time,it was an artifact that impacted many more people,asI was certainly not the only person who had a beetle.It was part of the landscape of Mexico City;it had an international appeal;it was the car that symbolized working-class ability to own a car.1 There was something interesting between what's specific,private,global and massive.Everything was contained in this object.
