Although the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang,western Gansu Province remain closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic,people were able to appreciate them in Beijing at an exhibition hosted by the Palace Museum,or Forbidden City,which ran from September through November.The exhibition displayed 188 cultural relics from the Gansu section of the ancient Silk Road and replicated three of the Mogao Caves to showcase the murals and sculptures,the world's biggest site for Buddhist arts.
