犬眼眶脓肿致眼球突出病例报告

Case Report of Canine Globe Protrusion Caused by Orbital Abscess

1只13岁的西伯利亚雪橇犬因左眼肿胀就诊。该犬无其他病史。临床检查见左侧眼球突出,张口疼痛,牙周病严重。影像学检查发现左侧眼球后方眼眶内占位性病变,细胞学检查提示化脓性炎症伴感染。因此诊断为左侧眼眶脓肿,怀疑与牙周病相关。治疗包括抽吸脓肿,根据细菌培养及药敏试验结果选择全身性抗生素治疗,并进行牙科治疗。治疗后2周患犬痊愈,2个月后未见复发。

A 13-year-old Siberian Husky presented to our hospital with a swollen left eye.The patient had no other medical history.Clinical examination revealed protrusion of the left eye, painful mouth opening, and severe periodontal disease.Diagnostic imaging revealed an intraorbital occupying lesion in the posterior aspect of the left eye, and the cytology detection suggested purulent inflammation with infection.Therefore, a left orbital abscess was diagnosed, and periodontal disease was suspected to be associated.Treatment included aspiration of the abscess, systemic antibiotic therapy based on bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test results, and dental treatment.The patient recovered 2 weeks after treatment and no recurrence was observed after 2 months.
