Fan Xiaoqing has created a literary world which is rooted in real life, and her works show great realistic and contemporary nature. She is good at perceiving and understanding the vicissitudes of the obscure characters’ life with profound humanistic care. The various characters in her works entail distinctive life consciousnesses. Her recent fiction presents and reproduces the multi-faceted life and complex humanity behind the complicated interpersonal relationship network on the background of the economic society in the transition period. The fiction presents the survival situation of individual life and phenomenon of society, which aims to express the spiritual characteristics of social groups and characters through living phenomena. In the meanwhile, she endeavors to explore modern people’s identity and mental illness. She also has tried to present a vast life scene in the plain dilute and outline the diverse survival maps in the transition period. The daily life depicted in her works looks like noisy and trivial on the surface, but it eventually points to the complex human nature and the internal nature of living.
