《河北通俗农刊》是由河北省立农学院出版委员会于1934年9月创刊的地方农业类季刊,1936年更名为《河北农林学刊》,后几易其名,于1959年正式确定刊名为《河北农业大学学报》并沿用至今。该刊物的内容以农业为主,兼具实用性与科学性,既为河北省立农学院的教员提供授课参考的资料,也为农学研究者提供相关参考文献,同时还为广大农业劳动者提供一系列现实可行的农业种植常识与技巧。《河北通俗农刊》具有科学严谨、思想开放、专业性强等一系列进步刊物的显著特征,以农业教育辅助性教学刊物的身份为高等农业教育的现代化进程做出了一定贡献。该刊物体现了20世纪30年代保定乃至河北地区对于农业发展的重视,对于研究保定以及河北省农业发展历史具有一定的史料价值。

Hebei Popular Agricultural Journal was founded by the publishing Committee of Hebei Provincial Agricultural College in December 1934 and serialized to local agricultural quarterly in December 1935.The contents of the journal are mainly agricultural,both practical and scientific.It not only provides professors’reference materials for the teachers of Hebei Provincial Agricultural College,but also provides relevant references for agricultural researchers.At the same time,it also provides a series of practical agricultural planting common sense and skills for the majority of agricultural workers.The publication reflects the attention paid to agricultural development in Baoding and even Hebei Province in the 1930s,and has certain historical value for studying the history of agricultural development in Baoding and Hebei Province.
