Annotation on the Great Learning is not only ZHU Xi’s explanation of the Great Learning, but also interpretation and perfection of his philosophical system. ZHU Xi used the method of circular argumentation to accomplish theoretical discussion, then conformed the conclusion that had been judged to be true when the premise was determined. It established the standard of rationalism and made traditional Confucianism become reasonable.
