On the Artistic Innovation of the Documentary Reading China with Letters

以纪录片《书简阅中国》对经典历史人物形象、经典历史事件进程以及经典传统文化价值的重构为切入点,探析该纪录片在重构经典时所运用的创新艺术手法:以“书简”为载体,将书信立体化、影视化。通过书信文本和特色配音重构中国历史上的帝王将相等经典人物的形象,通过情景再现和电影修辞重构经典历史事件的进程,通过书信对话和跨媒介艺术表达重构传统书信、古典诗词等经典文化的价值。

Based on the reconstruction of classic historical figures, historical events and traditional cultural values in the documentary Reading China with Letters, this paper explores the innovative artistic techniques used in the reconstruction of classics: letters as media are solidified and picturized. Specifically, it shows the value of reconstructing the images of classic figures like emperors in Chinese history through letter texts and characteristic dubbing, reconstructing the process of classic historical events like Destruction of Opium at Humen through scene reappearance and movie rhetoric, and reconstructing classical culture like traditional letters and classical poetry through letter dialogue and cross-media artistic expression.
