环氧乙烷在液态时是稳定的。环氧乙烷生产、储存中的工艺设备及反应物料大部分具有易燃、易爆,有毒、有害,高温、高压,深冷、低温等特点,这决定了该生产系统具有较大的火灾爆炸危险性。最近的实验表明,环氧乙烷蒸汽暴露于各种火源时会发生爆炸性分解。当认识到环氧乙烷蒸汽的爆炸性质时,本文发现了处理环氧乙烷的令人满意的方法。本文介绍了对其爆炸特性的研究结果,以及处理和储存这种材料的建议程序。呈现完整的化学和物理特性,包括环氧乙烷的用途,和一些关于环氧乙烷毒性的数据。
Ethylene oxide is stable in liquid state. Most of the process equipment and reaction materials in the production and storage of ethylene oxide are flammable, explosive, toxic, harmful, high temperature, high pressure, cryogenic and low temperature, which determines that the production system has great fire and explosion risk. Recent experiments showed that ethylene oxide vapor will decompose explosively when exposed to various fire sources. When recognizing the explosive nature of ethylene oxide vapor, a satisfactory method was found to deal with ethylene oxide. The results of the study was presented on its explosive characteristics and the recommended procedures for handling and storing this material. It presented complete chemical and physical properties, including the use of ethylene oxide, and some data on the toxicity of ethylene oxide.
