摘要
运用中国家庭追踪调查数据,研究了父母认知能力和家庭资产结构对子女教育支出与教育期望的影响。结果显示:父母认知能力有助于提高他们对子女的教育支出和教育期望。家庭收入、家庭存款和住房价值对子女的教育支出与教育期望有促进作用,但固定收入对子女教育支出有抑制作用。从子女性别异质性角度来看,父母认知能力与子女性别在教育支出和教育期望的影响上无差别;但在工资性收入等流动资产方面,对男孩的教育支出和教育期望要高于女孩;而在家庭存款、房产等不动资产方面,对女孩的教育支出和教育期望则要高于男孩。从子女家庭所在地的异质性角度来看,城镇家庭对子女教育具有教育支出高、教育期望高的特征,而农村家庭对子女具有教育支出低、教育期望高的特征。在统计数据进行内生性处理和稳健性检验后,结果仍然显著。
The impact of parent’ cognitive ability and family assets structure on their education expenditure and education expectation on children is explored based on the data of China Family Panel Studies.The results show that parent’ cognitive ability can promote their education expenditure and expectation on children.Household incomes and deposits and housing values can promote education expenditure and education expectation on children,but fixed incomes can cause inhibition of the education expenditure on children.From the perspective of children’s gender heterogeneity,parent’ cognitive ability shows no difference in the influence of children’s gender on education expenditure and education expectation.In terms of liquid assets such as salary incomes,the education expenditure and education expectation on boys are higher than that on girls.In terms of fixed assets such as deposits and property,the education expenditure and education expectation on girls are higher than that on boys.From the perspective of heterogeneity of children’s home places,urban families have the characteristics of high education expenditure and high education expectation on their children,while rural families have the characteristics of low education expenditure and education expectation on their children.The result is still significant after the endogenous processing and robustness test.
