The Construction of an Index of a Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation

铸牢中华民族共同体意识是新时代实现中华民族伟大复兴中国梦的重要方式和关键路径。通过构建中华民族共同体意识指标体系,科学深刻地把握中华民族共同体意识的真实全貌,有助于进一步评价和改善现阶段我国民族工作状况,推动中华民族共同体建设。本文从中华民族共同体意识建构的意义和原则出发,基于认知体悟-情感信仰-行为倾向三维结构,结合内隐层次-外显层次两层框架,建构符合新时代中国发展特色的中华民族共同体意识指标体系。

Based on a three-dimensional structure of cognitive consciousness,emotional beliefs,and behavioral tendency of a sense of community for the Chinese nation,combined with a two-layer framework of implicit and explicit levels,this paper attempts to put forward an evaluation index system of a sense of community for the Chinese nation.All of this is in line with the characteristics of China s policy of the new era of development,expecting to enrich the relevant research on a sense of community for the Chinese nation and exploring a practical path for forging this sense of community.The article suggests that cognitive consciousness includes five parts:cognition of history,cognition of culture,cognition of a state,cognition of a nation,and cognition of development.In the setting of this study,cognition of history tries to explore the experience and cognitive identity of the members of all ethnic groups of the Chinese nation in the historical process.Cognition of culture here emphasizes the identification of the members of all ethnic groups with the cultural symbols,ideas,and ways of thinking of the community of the Chinese nation.Cognition of the state evaluates the identification of individuals with the People s Republic of China.Cognition of the nation tries to explore the people s identity and subjective dependence on the Chinese nation,seen as an integral entity.Cognition of development emphasizes identification with the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the development path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.This paper concludes that emotional beliefs include four parts:a sense of honor regarding the Chinese nation,a sense of pride in the Chinese nation,a sense of belonging to the Chinese nation,and a sense of responsibility towards the Chinese nation.A sense of honor concerning the Chinese nation focuses on measuring the emotions of individuals towards the Chinese national entity.A sense of pride in the Chinese nation focuses on people s pride perception of the Chinese nation to which they belong and the group preference of a community for the Chinese nation.A sense of belonging to the Chinese nation focuses on the recognition and sense of belonging of individuals concerning the community of the Chinese nation.A sense of responsibility towards the Chinese nation evaluates individuals cognition and willingness to actively undertake the task of national rejuvenation.Behavioral tendency in this context may include three parts:the inheritance of Chinese national culture,the carrying forward of a Chinese national spirit,and the maintenance of Chinese national unity.The inheritance of Chinese national culture tries to explore whether individuals can consciously and actively acquire inherited and refined traditional Chinese national culture,and integrate it into their daily lives.Carrying forward a Chinese national spirit emphasizes people s behavioral tendency of promoting a national spirit of production,effort,unity,and ambition.Finally,maintaining Chinese national unity focuses on the willingness of all ethnic members to consciously resist secession,and instead learn and follow the ethnic policies of the Communist Party of China.
