毛泽东诗词中的通感隐喻及英译研究

Synesthetic Metaphor in Mao Tse-tung’s Poetry and Its Translation

通感又称移觉,属修辞格的一种。通感实质上是“用感觉来写感觉”,即沟通两类感觉,目的是使表达更具新奇感和生动性。认知语言学家主张通感是独特的隐喻形式,由此又称其为“通感隐喻”。本文从认知视角出发对《许渊冲英译毛泽东诗词》中收录的67首毛泽东诗词的通感隐喻进行分析,在此基础上进一步探讨许渊冲先生在翻译毛泽东诗词中的通感隐喻现象所采用的翻译策略,以求为诗歌中的通感翻译提供思考与灵感。

Synaesthesia is a kind of figure of speech.Synaesthesia is the use of the description of one kind of feeling to describe another kind of feeling and the communication between the two kinds of feelings,resulting in a sense of novelty and vividness in expression.With the rise and development of cognitive linguistics,scholars are more willing to understand synaesthesia from the cognitive perspective,that is,synaesthesia is a special form of metaphor,so we can also call it“synaesthetic metaphor”.Synaesthetic metaphor can make literary works more vivid and make the theme of poetry more clear.This paper analyzes the synaesthetic metaphor of 67 Mao Tsetung poems in Xu Yuanchong’s English Translation of MAO Tse-tung’s Poems from the perspective of cognition.On the basis of this,this paper further discusses the translation strategies adopted by Mr.Xu Yuanchong in translating the synaesthetic metaphor in MAO Tse-tung’s poems,in order to provide thinking and inspiration for the synaesthetic translation in poems.
