The paper makes a detailed analysis of the practice on transformation from lead smelting to tin smelting in Yunnan Tin Group, introduces the old system utilization, renovation and supplement, and describes the main functions and characteristics of the system after transformation. On the basis of making full use of the old project system, the transformation project has newly built the smelting pretreatment system, fuming and volatilizing system, intermediate product treatment process flow, improved the pyrometallurgical system, refining system, environmental protection & safety system, energy saving system, and upgraded and optimized the digital management and control system. Practice has proved that not only the excess production capacity of the original lead smelting system has been sold out, but also a global tin smelting benchmark project with "large capacity, strong technical equipment,excellent energy saving & environmental protection, high digitalization level and good comprehensive benefits" has been built.
