光绪四年的河间赈灾——以吴大澂致汪鸣銮信札为中心的考述

Disaster Relief in Hejian Prefecture in 1878——A Study Centered on Wu Dacheng’s Letters to Wang Mingluan

光绪四年(1878年),河间府遭遇严重旱灾,直隶总督李鸿章奏调翰林院编修吴大澂赴灾区赈济。在新发现的吴大澂致汪鸣銮的5通信札中,详细记述了吴大澂在河间的放赈经过,是生动反映河间赈灾的第一手材料,对研究河间赈灾有重要的文献价值。

The Hejian Prefecture suffered a severe drought in 1878, and the Governor Li Hongzhang recommended Wu Dacheng, the editor of Hanlin Academy, to provide relief to the victims in Hejian Prefecture. The newly discovered 5 letters from Wu Dacheng to his cousin Wang Mingluan described in detail the process of Hejian Prefecture disaster relief. These letters are the first-hand materials that vividly reflect the disaster relief in Hejian Prefecture. The contents of these letters were of reference value to study the Hejian Prefecture disaster relief.
