Tony Morrison’s novel“Beloved”is developed with the memory of the characters, and the novel itself also carries the national memory of Blacks’past. From personal memory to the arousal of collective memory, from personal sufferings to the resonance of national sufferings, what Morrison wants to show to readers is the humiliation and misery experienced by black people, and she wants to make“Historical Re-memory”.Today,“Re-memory”is no longer just the meaning of memory“repetition”,but more importantly,it means the“presentization”of memory, that is,to give memory a new sense.“Beloved”,on the one hand,is a book which preserves and reproduces the tragic memories of Blacks,on the other hand,it attempts to pass on the memories in a way of“presentization”,which aims to activate the ethnic and cultural memories of Blacks and maintain their past experiences in a fresh way,so as to avoid the reappearance of their tragic history.
