The Centenary Course of the CPC’s United Front for Overseas Chinese

值此党的统一战线政策提出100周年之际,回顾海外华侨统一战线的百年历程具有重要意义。新民主主义革命时期,海外华侨统一战线的主要任务是凝聚侨心侨力推翻“三座大山”,实现民族独立、人民解放和建立新中国;社会主义革命和建设时期,海外华侨统一战线的主要任务是巩固新生的人民政权、实现从新民主主义社会过渡到社会主义社会、建立和巩固社会主义制度;改革开放后,海外华侨统一战线转向服务经济建设和社会主义现代化以及祖国统一;进入新时代,海外华侨统一战线的主要任务是凝聚侨心侨力为全面建成社会主义现代化强国、实现中华民族伟大复兴汇聚磅礴伟力。百年华侨统一战线的宝贵历史经验在于:海外华侨统一战线必须坚持党的领导;高举爱国主义旗帜,以围绕中心、服务大局为基本原则;以凝聚侨心侨智侨力为使命任务,以为侨服务、维护侨益为方针政策;以培养壮大海外爱国力量为基础工程。

On the 100th anniversary of the CPC’s united front policy,it is of great significance to review the centenary course of the united front of overseas Chinese.During the period of the new democratic revolution,the main task of the united front of overseas Chinese was to unite the wills and strength of overseas Chinese to overthrow the“three big mountains”and to achieve national independence,people’s liberation,and the estab⁃lishment of the PRC;During the period of socialist revolution and construction,the main task of the united front of overseas Chinese was to consolidate the new-established people’s regime,to realize the transition from a new democratic society to a socialist society,and to establish and consolidate the socialist system;After the reform and opening up,the united front of overseas Chinese turned to serve China’s economic construction,so⁃cialist modernization,and the goal of the reunification of China;Since the New Era,the main task of the unit⁃ed front of overseas Chinese had been to gather the great wills and strength of overseas Chinese to build a power⁃ful and modernized socialist country in an all-round way and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese na⁃tion.The valuable historical experience of the hundred-year united front of overseas Chinese lies in the fact that the united front of overseas Chinese must adhere to the leadership of the CPC,must hold high the banner of patriotism,must take the focus of the central matters and the service of the overall situation as the basic prin⁃ciple,must take the gathering of the wills,wisdom,and strength of overseas Chinese as the mission,must take serving overseas Chinese and safeguarding the interests of overseas Chinese as the general and specific policy,and must take cultivating and strengthening overseas patriotic forces as the basic project.
