The Ethical Direction of China’s Economic Development in the New Development Stage

党的十八大以来,我国经济迈上更高质量、更有效率、更加公平、更可持续、更为安全的发展之路。新发展阶段,推进经济高质量发展必须对经济行为理念、价值目标、发展原则、主体责任作出伦理考量。在经济行为理念上,强调既要抛弃“理性自利”的经济动机评价及其造成的扭曲财富价值观,还要抛弃“效率崇拜”和“效用分配冷漠”的经济效果评价等错误理念,使经济行为符合伦理应当。在经济发展价值目标上,强调基于“效用分配”和“增量的社会价值”以实现“美好生活”。在经济发展伦理原则上,强调坚持“公平正义”以维护经济和谐发展,坚持“包容性增长”以促进经济可持续发展,拒绝“丛林法则”以维护经济体健康。在经济主体责任上,强调经济活动主体尤其是企业家和非公有制经济主体应有更高的责任伦理要求。

Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC,China’s economy has embarked on a path of higher quality,more efficient,fairer,more sustainable and safer development.In the new stage of development,to promote high-quality economic development,ethical considerations must be made on the concept of economic behavior,value goals,development principles and subject responsibilities.In the concept of economic behavior,it emphasizes that we should abandon not only the evaluation of the economic motive of“rational self-interest”and the distorted values of wealth caused by it,but also the wrong ideas such as“efficiency worship”and“indifference to utility distribution”in evaluating economic effect,so as to make economic behavior conform to ethics.In the value goal of economic development,it emphasizes the realization of“good life”should be based on“utility distribution”and“incremental social value”.In the ethical principles of economic development,it emphasizes upholding“equity and justice”to maintain harmonious economic development,insisting on“inclusive growth”to promote sustainable economic development,rejecting“the law of the jungle”to maintain economic health.In the responsibility of economic subjects,it emphasizes that economic subjects,especially entrepreneurs and the non-public economic subjects,should have higher ethical requirements of responsibility.
