严译《原富》中农业术语的使用分析

On Use of Agricultural Terms in YAN Fu’s Yuanfu

严译《原富》中有一些农业术语。前人对于严译《原富》中的农业术语很少研究。一代知识精英严复对于农业术语的处理方法仍然值得我们研究。鉴于中外农业经济、科技的交流有着广泛的前景,有必要研究《原富》中严复对农业术语的处理及其得失,以此促进交流。严氏农业术语译词的处理方法为音译法、意译法和音译意译拼接法。严氏译词存在语音处理不当、词义处理不当、词汇套用不当、自造词不当、选字古奥等多方面的问题。借鉴严复处理农业术语的方法和教训,有利于避免译词处理常见问题,有助于中外农业经济与科技的交流。

There are some agriculture related terms in Yan Fu’s translation version Yuanfu.Previous researchers have done little research on agricultural terms in Yuanfu.In view of the broad prospects for the exchange of agricultural science and technology literature between China and foreign countries,it is necessary to study the treatment of related agricultural terms and their gains and losses in Yuanfu.Yan’s translated words have some problems,such as improper phonetic processing,abuse of transliteration method,improper understanding of word meaning,improper vocabulary application,improper self-made words,over-use of ancient and abstruse words,and so on.By learning from Yan Fu’s experience and taking lessons his demerits in dealing with agricultural terms,it is helpful to avoid common problems in dealing with translated words and contributes to the exchange of agricultural economy and science and technology between China and foreign countries.
