Comparatively speaking,it is easy to avoid making mistakes in vocabulary and grammar when it comes to rendering Chinese into English.However,usage mistakes would most likely occur on account of overgeneralization on the part of a translator.This paper points out some usage mistakes in the series of translated Selected Modern Chinese Essays,makes a detailed analysis of the reasons for these mistakes via a multitude of examples,and corrects the corresponding mistakes.
