大明湖名称小考

Textual research on the name of Daming Lake

大明湖为今山东济南的重要地标,位于济南市中心。笔者翻阅济南历代文献,考证出了大明湖的名称变迁过程。元代以前,“大明湖”之称呼并不常用;《水经注》中的“大明湖”与今天的大明湖并非是同一处湖;虽与明朝国号相似,但“大明湖”的名称在明朝成立之前就已经存在,与明朝国号无涉,故在清初没有经历改名之变。

Located in the downtown area of Ji’nan, Daming Lake is an important landmark of Ji’nan City, Shandong Province. This paper discusses the name change process of Daming Lake after conducting textual research of historical literature of Jinan. “Daming Lake” was not a commonly used name prior to the Yuan Dynasty;the “Daming Lake” in Commentary on the Water Classic is not the same lake as today’s Daming Lake;although it is same as the official name of the Ming Dynasty, the name of “Daming Lake” has nothing to do with it because it existed before the founding of the Ming Dynasty,so it was not renamed in the early Qing Dynasty.
