As a master of modernist literature in the 20th century, one of Faulkner’s outstanding contributions lies in his exploration of narrative experiments in novels. For a long time, academic circles have paid little attention to the obvious cinematic narrative features of A Rose for Emily.Faulkner conducts cinematic novel narrative experiments through montage narratives freely switched in time and space, image rhetoric rich in“lens sense”,and unique visual modeling. However,he is not limited to playing with formal skills, but uses them as an effective narrative device serving thematic and stylistic expression.
