The academic journals of Hunan University in the early period had distinctive communication concept and correct guidance. Since the Xiangxue New paper started publication, it insisted on the principle and guidance of running a journal without discussing the government and officials, and insisted on the idea of running a journal for academic or learning purposes. The Educational Journal of Hunan University Education Society advocates cultivating the spirit of research and the concept of communication based on a solid academic foundation of education. Yuan Fu advocates the traditional academic communication concept of literature carrying morality.
