公私之间:明清时期思播地区官绅修建道观的多重目的

Public and Personal Affairs:Multiple Purposes of Building Taoist Temples by Officials in Sibo Area in Ming and Qing Periods

明清时期修建道观既是思播地区官绅为官一方应完成的政治任务,也是其治理地方的重要手段。故而,修建道观的目的呈现多维化,有的目的常显,有的目的常隐。“国之利器”与“利己之私”属于不可与人轻语的目的;“营建胜迹”和“培育地脉”不符合儒家原教旨主义原则,属于不可轻易承认的目的;象教这一目的因蕴含忠孝之精义而常被官绅宣之于口。修建之目的宏广足证道观之作用弘大。

It was both a political task and important means for an official to build Taoist temples in Sobo area.Therefore,the purposes for building them were multidimensional.Some of them were overt,while others were covert.The“country’s powerful weapon”and“personal interest”belonged to the purposes which could not be told;the“scenic spot construction”and“cultivation of dragon vein”was not in line with the Confucian foundamentalist principle which could not be confessed easily;the purpose of image education was often promoted orally due to its implication of loyalty and filial piety.The multiple purposes for building these Taoist temples can fully prove their gigantic role.
