Art Revolution and Revolutionary Art:On the red gene of Shanghai Fine Art School

中国共产党的百年历史是红色文艺与革命历史互动交织的历史。历史地看,红色文艺可以上溯到五四时期的新文化运动。党的创始人关注并倡导美术革命,左翼文艺运动的艺术实践助推了革命美术家群体的形成。上海美专师生率先觉醒,同情革命、支持革命,将革命思想融入艺术创作中,成为革命美术的先行者。

The centennial history of the CPC is a history of interaction and interwoven of red literature and art and revolutionary history.Historically,red literature and art can be traced back to the New Culture Movement at the May 4 th Movement.The founders of the Party paid attention to and advocated art revolution,and the art practice of the left-wing literary and artistic movement promoted the formation of a group of revolutionary artists.The teachers and students of Shanghai Fine Art School,founded in 1912,took the lead in awakening,sympathizing with and supporting the revolution,integrating revolutionary ideas into their artistic creation,and becoming pioneers of revolutionary art.
