Language Education Policies for International Students in China:Evolution,Characteristics and Motivations

随着“一带一路”倡议的实施,中国已成为出国留学的第二大目的国。现有研究主要关注留学生教育政策的整体发展,专门针对留学生语言教育政策的研究相对匮乏。本研究基于对历史文献和资料的文本分析,考察新中国成立以来来华留学生语言教育政策的发展和特点,探讨这些语言教育政策演变的动因。本文有助于留学生语言教育政策的完善和创新,对留学生语言教育有一定的启示。

With the implementation of One Belt&Road initiative,China has become the second largest destination for international students to study aboard.Though the overall development of international students'education policies has received increasing attention,international students'language education policies have been underexplored.Based on the text analysis of historical documents and materials,the present study examined the development and characteristics of language education policies for international students,and discussed the motivations for the evolution of these policies since the foundation of the People's Republic of China.This paper contributes to the improvement and innovation of language education policies for international students and sheds light on their language education to some extent.
