The Support for Peking University’s Teaching and Research from the Peking University Library Under the Leadership of Li Dazhao——An Investigation Centered on the German Books in Register Books for Western Languages from 1919 to 1920

李大钊在担任北京大学图书馆主任期间,积极引进西文图书,配合学校教学改革,促进了图书馆从藏书机构向教育机关的转型。文章通过对北京大学图书馆《1919—1920年西文图书登录簿》中部分与教学科研相关的德文图书的梳理和介绍,考察了这些文献在当时北京大学的教学和学术研究中的作用与意义,进一步论证了李大钊及其主持的北京大学图书馆在支持北京大学的教学和科研方面的贡献。

During Li Dazhao’s tenure as the director of the Peking University Library, he actively introduced Western language books and cooperated with teaching reform to promote the transformation of the Peking University Library from a collection institution to an educational institution. The article reveals and introduces some German books related to teaching and research, which were found in Register Books for Western languages from 1919 to 1920 in Peking University Library. The author studies the effect and significance of these collections in the teaching activities and academic research activities of Peking University at that time, and states the remarkable contribution of Li Dazhao and the library in supporting the teaching and research of Peking University.
