George Gershwin is the founder of American national music.He has made a great contribution to the development of jazz in the United States and even around the world.Gershwin has created a large number of music works of different genres.All his works of various musical forms,including pop music,piano solo,symphony,concerto,etc.,creatively used a large jazz vocabulary such as blues and ragtime.Combined with the development of American music and the rise of jazz,this paper discusses Gershwin’s musical characteristics and jazz complex,focusing on the creative application of jazz vocabulary in his works,so as to provide support for a deep understanding of Gershwin’s jazz style.
