The Story of Panic, the first fantasy fiction of E.M.Foster,was famous for its implications indicated by the repetition of images and plots.Pan,the Pastoral God in Greek mythology, was used as the mythological archetype to create a mysterious story,by which Foster intended to express the nostalgia for agriculture era and satirize the apathy of middle class in Britain.Through J.Hillis.Miller’s repetition theory of deconstructive criticism, the repetitions of the story were dissected and the connotation of the story was explored from a new perspective. Therefore, the contemporary relevance and multiculturism of this novel could be interpreted further.
