Designing Principles of Contemporary Ceramic Jewelry Based on Its Functions

现代陶瓷首饰是指运用现代设计理念或创作思维设计制作出的以陶瓷为主要材质对人的外在形象起到一定装饰作用,或对人的个性、审美起到一定标示性的装饰品。本文立足于产品设计功能分类理论,分析现代陶瓷首饰实用功能、审美功能和象征功能的内容,并在此基础上提出并论述现代陶瓷首饰设计的四原则,即实用性原则、审美性原则、个性化原则和材质优势原则,试图为现代陶瓷首饰设计设置合理的规范,以改善当前陶瓷首饰产品的设计现状。

Contemporary ceramic jewelry refers to those ornaments designed with the contemporary design idea or creative thinking and mainly made of ceramic material,decorating the wearer’s external image or demonstrating the wearer’s character and aestheticism.Based on the function category theory of product design,this paper analyses the practical function,aesthetic function and symbolic function of contemporary ceramic jewelry,raises and discusses the four principles of contemporary ceramic jewelry design,which includes principle of practicality,principle of aestheticism,principle of individuation and principle of material preference,trying to set up a reasonable edge for contemporary ceramic jewelry design and improve its current design situation.
