Perspectives and Methods: A Cross-category Research on the Study of Silk Road Arts

目前艺术史研究中的跨门类方法虽然尚在不断探索与逐渐明晰之中,但有一些特殊艺术门类史的研究已实践了“跨门类艺术史”的方法,如“丝绸之路艺术史”“中日艺术交流史”“东西艺术比较史”等。这类艺术史因为建立在某个特定地理界域、时期、政治、族群等之上,因此需要通过打通艺术门类各个领域,以交互及多元视角来揭示其“史”的内涵与外延,形成对此类特殊艺术史和艺术史学的“整体性”逻辑思维认识,确立这类艺术史的“公共阐释”与“公共史学”价值。。

At present, although the cross-category approach in the research of art history is still under exploration and gradually becomes recognized, there is a special research of art history that has been practicing the approach of “cross-category art history”, such as “the art history of the Silk Road”, “the history of Sino-Japanese art exchange”, and “the comparative history of the Eastern and Western arts”. Because this kind of art history is based on a specific geographical field, period, political field and ethnic group, it needs to break through all fields of art categories to reveal the connotations and extensions of its “history” from interactive and multiple perspectives. For such special art histories and art history studies, in order to gain a “holistic” understanding of their logical thinking, it needs to identify the value of “public interpretations” and “public histories” of such art histories.
