Putting the People First: A Distinctive Feature of the Chinese Path to Modernization

西方资本主义“市场需求-企业供给”的现代化道路存在内在缺陷,不能满足人的精神需要和社会公共需要。中国式现代化始终坚持以人民为中心,其内涵包含一般性、特殊性、人民性三个层面,能够充分满足人的物质需要、精神需要和公共需要。走中国式现代化道路,要牢牢坚守满足人民需要这一伟大的历史使命,实现好、维护好、发展好最广大人民根本利益,以更高的发展水平满足人民需要。

The Western path to modernization of capitalist “market demand-firm supply” is inherently flawed and cannot meet the intellectual and social needs of the people. The Chinese path to modernization is always people-centered,including three dimensions: generality, specificity, and people-centeredness, which can fully meet the material, intellectual,and social needs of the people. To follow the Chinese path to modernization, we should firmly adhere to this historical mission, realize, maintain, and develop the people’s fundamental interests, and meet their needs with a higher level of development.
