New Liberal Arts and the New Model of Tertiary Foreign Language Education

摘要 随着新文科建设在我国高校全面展开,外语专业的创新发展成为备受关注的议题。新文科建设背景下的外语专业,是创新课程体系和教学模式的新外语。新外语建设基于《国标》和《指南》,以“讲好中国故事”为指引,培养的是能够传播中国、沟通世界的新型人才。外语专业的教师需要准确把握新文科建设理念,不断探索新时代外语专业人才培养的新路径。 With the implementation of the New Liberal Arts Initiative in China’s universities, the development of tertiary foreign language education has become a subject of discussion. This paper argues that the New Liberal Arts Initiative calls for a new model of tertiary foreign language education with innovative curricula and teaching modes. Under the guidance of “telling China’s stories well”, the new model of tertiary foreign language education works within the framework of National Standards of Teaching Quality for Undergraduate Foreign Language and Literature Majors and Teaching Guide for Undergraduate Foreign Language and Literature Majors, and aims at cultivating talents to promote China’s international communication. Foreign language teachers should embrace the idea of the New Liberal Arts Initiative, and take proactive steps to explore new methods of talent cultivation for foreign language majors in the new era.
